Nili Gingold-Altchek

Nili Gingold-Altchek was born in Tel Aviv, Israel in 1984. A woman of many interests and talents; she played soccer for the Israeli National Women's League, published works of poetry, founded and headed the 'Bizchut Nashim' Organization in support of female service-members in the U.S. Military, and currently works in spiritual outreach through culture and the arts.
Nili has always been surrounded with the arts. Publishing her first poetic works while still in school, simultaneously juggling this expression while still a professional athlete. Nili culminated her early poetic entrepreneurship with the publication of "HaEtz BeGan Yakov". Later, while living in Japan, Nili found something tangible instead of specifically verbal - photography.
Nili is both a part-time journalist and photographer, and through her work she has seen many individuals suffering from anxiety, from mild to severe. Wishing to working against the stigma that haunts many, Nili chooses to use art as a means to stand up for the oppressed. With her exhibition 'The Art of Anxiety' she gives the observers a first person perspective of what anxiety feels like, with the hopes of combating stigma and bringing about empathy and understanding.
Nili finally accomplished her dream of becoming a therapeutic photographer, a form of art therapy pioneered in her hometown of Tel-Aviv. After her training, and reflecting on past social-justice and advocacy work, she put her mind to developing creative ways of dealing with life's greatest potential challenges. With this she developed an artistic and therapeutic workshop program that she calls, "Hope & Pain ©".
